It's really good for macro photography. But I would recommend being careful how you bend the light or the socket might crack. In addition, if you buy it, it is recommended to buy it from the original manufacturer. Guarantee at least 2 years. 1 year is too short.

I use this for both general macro photography (of plants) and for imaging pressed plant specimens in a herbarium. It did both very well, and being able to buy it quickly compared to Revain saved me from an awkward position. My only complaint is that it's not waterproof, but hey, you can't have everything. The first of these I bought had a non-working flash head. I returned it and got a second one. It has been used extensively over the past two summers I think there is a design flaw in the way the base of the arms attaches to the body of the flash, it would be too easy to break there, so I advise people to be very careful around the Don't let arms bend on the base.

I've only had this flash for 2 weeks but it seems to do everything I need it to do. I like the long articulated arms because they allow you to place the flash heads in almost any position you want, even in backlit situations in some cases. After reading a few reviews before purchasing, I make sure to insulate the attachment point of the arms to the flash head when assembling the arm. The performance is ok and the operation is easy.
