I felt 10 years old again!

Fun game but missing some elements of Fight Pokemon to catch them and through the Safari Zone! It definitely took me back to my childhood playing yellow Pokemon on a modern device. I love being able to transfer Pokemon to the Pokemon Go Switch so I can use them in Gym Battles on Let's Go. Overall a great game but lacks some features of the old game.

Pros
  • Catch Pokémon in the wild with a simple throw using the Joy-Con controller or the Poké Ball Plus accessory that lights up, vibrates and makes sounds to spice up your adventures
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Not bad, but probably not worth full price.

Great nostalgia value and a very polished experience. The new capture mechanic isn't all that terrible and could be seen as an interesting twist on the old formula. For me, the most obvious downside to the game is the extremely easy difficulty level. You don't really feel challenged at almost any point in the game. Basically it's like a walk, good and sophisticated, but a walk nonetheless. The game is not intended for hardcore main series players, but many of them will still want to play it…

Pros
  • Connect to Pokémon GO* to transfer captured Kanto region Pokémon, including Alolan and Shiny forms, and the newly discovered Pokémon Meltan from this game to this one!
Cons
  • Appearance

As a huge Pokemon fan, I'm heartbroken.

I really wanted to like this game but I'm deeply disappointed as it's the first main game in the franchise that I don't like that much. Game Freak focused the whole game on Pokemon Go style catching which is very boring and repetitive. To level up, to train your Pokemon's stats, you have to catch specific zone that you have caught repeatedly and systematically in the simple and boring Pokemon Go way. ALL strategies have been removed from this game, skills removed, weather removed, battle items…

Pros
  • Become a Pokemon trainer while traveling through Kanto
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
