The microphone picks up nothing if you put it directly to your mouth and yell directly into it. Only then everything is barely audible. And there is no way to turn off the microphone. When a call comes in your phone will automatically use this thing's mic as it bills itself as 'hands-free' so it's really annoying to have to manually switch to speakerphone every time and wouldn't be safe to do so during a call. Drive. I would have given 4/5 stars if the mic wasn't there from the start as the sound is good (it supports AAC codec so works with all Apple devices). However, I don't really need the mic, it gets in the way and makes it difficult to use my phone, so I'll give it 1/5.
