Review on Black Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT Headphones, Size Medium (ATHM50XBT) for Improved SEO by Will Murphy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The wireless version of the ATH-M50xBT is finally here!

I'm a big fan of wired communication, but I've tried several Bluetooth headphones and earbuds hoping to find a decent Bluetooth solution. Like others, I was disappointed with the poor sound quality, poor comfort, short battery life, insufficient volume, etc. As an Audio-Technica fan, I should have bought these headphones when they came out. So far, so good. The overall design of the M50x is very appealing, with sturdy hinges that turn like crazy, a metallic click-in headband adjustment, decently sized earcups, balanced, detailed sound, and good volume levels. Sound performance is indeed the same as the M50x, they're about as loud as a wired M50x plugged into an unamplified set. That being said, my dream BT headset will be as loud as a wired headset plugged into a small headphone amp. They could use more juice to boost volume and bass, but they work better than anything I've tried, so I'm happy. The volume buttons work independently of my Android 8 device when it's connected, so make sure you adjust the device and headset volume. . The instructions are graphical, the red indicator light is on while charging and turns off when fully charged. When powered on, the white indicator will flash when there is no pair and solid white when connected. Durable USB AB charging cable, I wish it was USB-C but I understand AT tried to keep the headset under $200. I assume that supporting AptX-HD would make them more expensive; If that's the case, I think AT did the right thing by only offering AptX, as it's almost impossible to tell the difference from standard streaming music quality (like most, myself included, would use ). The final note concerns connectivity and range. My phone has Bluetooth 5.0 and this is the first set I've tried with 5.0. I don't know if this helps with the range, but I can leave my phone in any room in my two story house and go pretty much anywhere with no connection issues. Well! Best connection I've seen with a bluetooth audio device. Update - I found a very decent equalizer and volume app called Equilizer FX Pro that works flawlessly with this headset and my LG V30. Pictured are my best settings. Nice equalizer that really works.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
