Tried using this with multiple lens settings; Here's a quick rundown of what I found (this is very general, but just my specific experience). It's enough to reach the end of my 100-400mm lens when it's fully collapsed (at 100mm) and you're gluing your lens neck out of reach of the cap. a fixed focal length lens like 50mm is too short; too much folded cover to control the lens and keep it moving. Most medium telephoto and zoom lenses should work just fine, like my 24-105. the transparent backing becomes extremely cluttered depending on the conditions, especially when covered by snow and sticking together by itself. seems to do a great job of keeping out the wet, keeps my hands a lot warmer than I expected. In any case, this is by no means complete, but hopefully it gives you an idea of the product. for what you pay I'd say it's almost right.
