Review on The Flash X-Tender Better Beamer FX-6: Enhancing Nikon SB-900 Flash Output by Brian Page

I am a semi-professional bird photographer ([.]) and was very impressed with the results I get using the Better Beamer in combination with the SB-900 flash when using super-telephoto lenses (e.g. 500mm with 1 ,7x teleconverter). At close enough distance, the Better Beamer emits enough light to fully illuminate the subject, allowing images to be captured that were previously unavailable. This gave me a great shot of mottled taukha in dense undergrowth, which would have been almost impossible without a flash as a shutter speed of 1/15s was measured before the flash fired. With Better Beamer and SB-900 you can not only take pictures in low light conditions. I use the +Beamer flash on 99% of my wildlife photography - even on the brightest days - as it provides great fill lighting, reduces shadows and slows down the action. A highly recommended accessory!
