Description of Enhance Your Viewing Experience with the Celestron 94243 Telescope Filter, 6-Inch, in Black

Instantly transform your normal Celestron 6” Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes (6" SCT) into a yellow-light solar telescope (complete list of 6" SCT look in description section). ISO compliant solar safe film protects your eyes when viewing the sun, unlike some other filters on the market. Scratch resistant polymer produced by American Paper Optics. Designed from the telescope’s lens cap for a snug fit, each filter includes two safety Velcro straps and four self-adhesive Velcro pads for safely securing your solar filter in place.

Bought it at a big discount from Revain

Unfortunately too big for my telescope. I use it to this day and enjoy it very much. I could see sunspots with it. I would definitely recommend that you get a lens to match your scope because the last thing you want to do is stare at the sun through the eyepiece and the filter will fall off. That would be bad. Bad 600 lb twink.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket

Only two months old and is detaching from the frame

This is the second Celestron Eclipsmart solar filter I have purchased with a solar filter detaching from the frame. When this first happened I thought I was just unlucky to get a bad filter. The second time indicates poor workmanship/quality control by Celestron. Now I need to find a way to reattach the filter to the frame. I know things like this happen and it's easy to fix, but it shouldn't happen with a 2 month filter.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
