📡 Wireless DL-30A Harvest Dummy Load PL-259 - 100W, 0-500MHz Range Review

I bought this to isolate a possible antenna and feed problem for my APRS station. The unit worked great for what I needed, well built and the design looks like it will stay cool with a disc shaped metal body for reasonable RF performance. It looks like it will require some abuse, maybe more than some other similar products.

I've been using it for about a month and am running 5 watts with no problems. Although it's designed for higher performance, I don't need to run higher loads. My transfers aren't very long when using this, maybe 5 seconds while doing other tests. Heating is not a problem. It seems to be well built, I didn't notice any quality defects.

I would say this is not a 100w dummy load. This is a 15W dummy load if it can deliver 15W continuously. I ordered it thinking it would be a 100 watt load and now I find out it isn't. It will still do what I need, but it's still an issue. And the specs on the product don't say how long the device can withstand 100W without damaging the device. Someone has to rewrite the advertisement for this machine.

Works as expected; I don't have a serious test set, but it reduced my transceiver's 5 watt output to "pickup by receiver two feet away". Measured 51 ohms at DC. The connector housing of the PL-259 does not rotate freely: when connecting or disconnecting a load, everything rotates as a whole. The center pin is shorter than the threads so it doesn't snap first (unlike most other PL-259 connectors I've seen).
