It feels flimsy and cramped but works

I just didn't want to pay more than $100 for an official Microsoft keyboard the old fashioned way, and this seemed like a good alternative. So to the pros and cons. On the plus side, the price is reasonable. Has good lighting. Loads relatively quickly. And the battery life seems decent, but it's hard to say. There is no indicator. On the other hand, both my husband and myself with relatively small hands feel cramped to type on it. But my main computer is a MacBook. It's difficult to switch…

Pros
  • Independent Keyboard Shortcuts - The first row contains independent keyboard shortcuts. You can get a screenshot with one click. Goodbye keyboard shortcuts * + Fn
Cons
  • Some issues

No! Do not do that! Buy from Microsoft.

The setting is not intuitive. The Bluetooth sync was clumsy and dropped randomly. Charged separately from the tablet, discharged quickly. Arrived uncharged (immediate pain). Typing suddenly stopped, although the touchpad function was still working (?!?). Everything is bad for the keyboard needed for my kid's homework. Caused more than a few crises for my 9 year old. After trying a few times to get it to work I gave up and got a Microsoft keyboard that plugs directly into the Surface Pad and…

Cons
  • Weak dialing

Pros: Backlit battery life is good Backlit for low light operation Key feel is surprisingly good (I expected them to suck, but it's not bad at all) USB charging Works with or without the Surface connector - I use it ALWAYS separate for now - I wish the Microsoft version was BT, but it isn't. Bad: USB charges via Micro-USB, not USB-C Backlight uneven Backlight under keys Touchpad is decent but not great, it works but is less sensitive than the Microsoft version. Battery life with the backlight…

Pros
  • False Touch Proof - The touchpad is larger than comparable keyboards. Its anti-false touch feature saves you the worry of accidentally touching the touchpad.
Cons
  • Legacy model

Don't take a Micro$oft keyboard - THIS IS A

My Surface GO 2 barely worked with the Microsoft keyboard. This keyboard worked fine for the most part, but it had no "mind" and DOES NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO REJECT THE PALM. In other words, typing was a constant chore as the touchpad registered touches while typing and moved the cursor. I can't tell you how frustrating it was editing documents and spreadsheets when your cursor wouldn't stay in place! This neat little keyboard is almost identical in shape and size, but it's BLUETOOTH! He…

Good item but there are imperfections - read before buying

This keyboard is a good thing, works as advertised but there are a few things to look out for when purchasing this product would like: - The product is not as strong and rigid as other keyboards in this range. When working on your knees or on uneven surfaces, the device flexes, sometimes quite a bit. And that flexing can put pressure on the touchpad, which can affect your ability to hit corners. This gets 2 stars, it could be more reliable for these portable devices. - If you are a fast typist,

Pros: Backlit battery life is good Backlit for low light operation Key feel/travel is surprisingly good (I expected it to suck, but it's not bad at all) USB charging Works like plugged in, and without the Surface - I use it as long as it's separate ALL THE TIME - I wish the Microsoft version was BT, but it isn't. Bad: USB charges via Micro-USB, not USB-C. The backlight is uneven. The backlight bleeds under the keys. it works but is less sensitive than the Microsoft version. Battery life with…
