I still have the 2.0 approach, it's been running for six years and in twenty countries. I just got the 3.0 approach and expect it to last at least 12 years. ❤️ One of my most precious things.

Fits well and sits great. This pack easily fits ten essentials for a great day hike. The hydration bladder fits snugly and is easily accessible. I've used this pack on Alta Peak and Half Dome Trail and many local Sierra day hikes and it's holding up great.

This is a really good backpack. It has many pockets inside and outside to store all my belongings. If I had to comment on that, I would say that lightning can get stubborn at times. And I want him to get up on his own. Without support he falls. I carry painting supplies (thinners, oils, etc.) that are meant to stand upright.

I bought this bag to carry our birding gear on our hikes. I had other Mountainsmith gear so I wasn't concerned about the quality at all. Too bad they skimped on zippers. This bag would be 5 around but the zippers are terrible. You have to unzip the zippers to get to them and you have to be careful how you open them. otherwise thumbs up.

I'm ordering one of these to replace the same model I've had for about 5 years. I've been using it EVERY day for five years. This is my travel backpack, my international travel backpack and the one I use for work. One of the great things about this backpack is that my 15.4 inch laptop fits in this bag and won't fall out even if I forget to close it, which happened a couple of times.
