Amazing lens, wish it had a zoom lock

This lens is everything I wanted EXCEPT it doesn't have a lock to prevent the lens from popping out when you're walking around with it. Sure it's not a problem, but I would fix my $1500 lens the same way I would fix a DSLR lens. Cheaper glass has this property. The IQ and stabilization is amazing and I think for most photography (I shoot mostly outdoors/adventure/skiing) this focal length is much better than the 100-300 focal length.

Great and versatile lens

I've taken tens of thousands of shots with this lens over the years. Most of these were action films. There is some vignetting at maximum zoom, but the lens' brightness and fast focusing ability are exceptional at this price point. The lens also proved to be durable. I've spent countless hours standing in the salt water and taking photos. It was thrown in a bag and backpack and still works. One of the best camera purchases I've ever made and all my other lenses are primes.

I agree that you are buying the best glass you can afford. Camera bodies come and go

I love Panasonic/Lumix. After all these years I came up with the G9. who has been missing for years. For me it was a good hit for $$$$$. I am also currently working on a set of this lens. I enjoy the color reproduction even before uploading my images to Silkyprints. . I also like the double stabilization. since I mainly work with portable devices. amazing build quality for this lens. I'll know more by the end of the summer

I didn't want to love this lens

I recently attended a Panasonic event where I got the chance to shoot with all the bodies and lenses made by Panasonic. I myself have 3 different Panasonic bodies and a small case with lenses. When I tried the Panasonic 50-200mm F2.8-4.0, I thought I'd confirm that I didn't like it.
