Good warning for those who haven't met Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson.

Well it's a fake camera. So it should "work" very well. Looks like a real flashing light helps make the camera visible to anyone thinking of picking up my stuff. It doesn't match my Smith & Wesson, but at least it's a fair warning to those meeting Mr Smith and Mr Wesson who have decided to proceed after seeing the camera. With this product I feel like they were pretty much forewarned before they were crushed.

Maybe safer on camera and photo

Installing this fake video camera was pretty easy. I made two changes to the recommended installation: 1- I didn't install the battery which means the red light isn't flashing. because real surveillance cameras do NOT use a red flashing light. 2- I added a coax cable going into the case and into the house. tied to nothing. This is just a hint to any bad guy that it might just be a working camera as the 'fake' cameras don't have a video cable. can let her go somewhere else.

It's so easy for security cameras

After reading all the reviews on it after receiving mine I had to laugh. It reminded me of the old snow globes you saw as a kid. It comes with screws to mount it as a smoke alarm or you can stick it anywhere with double sided tape. With AA batteries, it blinks or doesn't want to. Will he cheat on the bad guys? Who knows. It looks legit. I'm willing to believe that it can't hurt and it's only $5. Do I trust that it will give me rest? Of course not. One thing I know for sure: tweakers and thieves

Sneaky replacement for the original, just as effective!

My downstairs neighbor is a busy curious old woman who used to open my mailbox. I weighed the alternative of buying a lockable mailbox (expensive) instead of trying this dummy fake camera first. I put on a little show by setting up a camera and then informing Miss Busy Body Nosy Pants that there was a motion-activated camera that would record anyone who walked within a few feet of my mailbox. Her facial expression: PRICELESS. Since installing this product I have received all the flyers…

Inexpensive security solution.

A friend had one and offered to take a look. Bought to put on the boat while we are away several months of the year. There is no internet at the pier so it wasn't possible to connect a real one. It looks real and the little red flashing light makes it even more believable. We didn't want to drive screws into the fiberglass, so we sealed it with double-sided tape. This creates a tiny gap between the surfaces, but unless you look closely it's not noticeable. It doesn't protect against hardened…

Decent Fake Camera

Seems well made and easy to install. The red light appears too bright from the street. One improvement: I mounted it on a garage wall (vertical) and the slider holes in the mounting base are designed for ceiling mounting (rotation). You could add 2 more sliding holes pointing in the same direction for wall mounting where the device would slide down on 2 screws. Either way, it's still safely installed. I will buy another one for the back door. I bought a second one a week later and it was a…

Updated: Terrible battery life

The installation process was a bit tricky. I used the included instructions but still had a lot of trouble getting them onto the screws. In the end it just stuck. I think I may have heard a crack, but it's hanging securely on the wall now. However, so far it seems to have handled the recent outbreak of package theft in my building with ease. The Post/Lounge has no external power, is too far from my WiFi signal and has poor cell phone reception. I researched many ways to install a real camera in
