Not what I remember

As a child I really liked this soap. I recently bought this and was a bit disappointed with the scent. It looks like it, just not what I remember. Unfortunately, my wife doesn't like the smell. She thinks it smells like gasoline! (I like these scents so I don't mind but it's a shame the original scent is no longer made.)

Original packaging. A different wording. I used it many years ago and liked the light smell of carbolic acid which clears the sinuses. The formula has been changed and the soap is now made in Turkey under license to a company in Solihull, UK. Unilever owns this company. EU regulations banned all traces of coal tar and replaced it with tea tree oil. While tea tree oil can be effective when used properly, I find it too strong for my face. Exactly what the doctor ordered!

My dermatologist recommended that I use tar soap on my face to get rid of a fungal infection that was causing my skin to peel. I couldn't find a local store that sold it so I was glad when I found it on Revain. It seems to help and now I only use it even in the shower. I also use T-gel shampoo for hair and don't mind its smell on my body. I would highly recommend Wright's Coal Tar Soap to anyone wanting to try an over-the-counter product that many previous generations have used.

Good Soap!: Body

I used Wright's Coal Tar Soap on a trip to the UK a few years ago. I love it. The smell is different but not repulsive. I was excited to find it on Revain. When you step out of the shower you feel clean and fresh. It's a strange thing, but you should try it. It's one of those little things in life that makes ordinary days special.
