Terrible bleeding/viewing angles/washed out colors

I'm a software developer and of course I stare at screens all day. I've been using a 25" ASUS PB258Q (WQHD) for a few years and wanted to upgrade to a 32" 4k PC. I was happy with the quality of my ASUS monitor but wanted it to be larger so I could move my monitor farther from my desk. When I opened the box I was amazed at the size. The assembly of the stand was very easy, the necessary cables were included. I have to say I HATE the branded power cords offered by LG. I'd rather have a universal power cord like everyone else. I connected this baddie to my MacBook Pro using the included DisplayPort cable and El Gato Thunderbolt 3 docking station and was initially impressed, especially by the sheer size and resolution. I've enlarged it about 1.5 times so that everything doesn't get so tiny. My MacBook Pro recognized and scaled this very well. The problems started when I opened my dark theme code editor. This thing has several HUGE bleed/viewing angle/color accuracy issues. To be clear, I had the monitor about 2.5 feet away from me. Only about 1/3 of the monitor was visible at any one time with no significant blurring issues. I would have to physically reposition my head to see other parts of the screen. In addition, the parts that were not initially washed had very poor colors. I compared it side by side with my ASUS monitor and the MacBook screen and there was a huge difference. The colors on this monitor appeared to have a metallic sheen. Whatever preset or setting I tried to tweak, it was just awful to watch. Again, this was only an issue with darker scenes, but that's what most programming tools do (for eye care purposes). In case you were wondering, the room in the basement was completely dark at night. There was no reason why it should be so bad and so difficult to watch those dark scenes. In fact, my eyes hurt after looking at it for a while. For reference, I've attached some crappy photos taken with my iPhone. One is my ASUS monitor and the other is the LG monitor which this review is about. I know these photos aren't perfect, but they were taken at the same time, from the same distance, in the same code editor (WebStorm) with a dark theme, and it's noticeably different. I decided to take a nap and try again. The next day you might see that I'm tired and my eyes just hurt. The next day I hated it more than the day before and decided something MUST be wrong. I hope this is an unreliable block because I wouldn't use it for real work. tl; dr: I would not recommend this monitor, ESPECIALLY if you are a developer. Color reproduction is VERY poor and viewing angles are terrible, especially in dark scenes. I never write reviews.
