Review on Portable Monitor KOGODA Travel Speakers 15.6", 1920X1080P, 60Hz, High Dynamic Range, Z1-5S, HDMI by Walter Mercado

Good street monitor

I've only been using this monitor for two weeks and I really like it. I use it as a second monitor for my laptop when traveling and it works great. It supports USB-C from my laptop and my Nintendo Switch, which makes it very convenient. I have another laptop that I need to connect via HDMI and it works fine too. The packaging is excellent, all necessary cables are included. It also comes with a durable magnetic lid that serves very well as a stand (read the instructions for proper use). If you buy a female-to-female HDMI adapter ($3 on Amazon), you can use FireStick or ChromeCast with it. As a travel monitor, it's heavier than the specs say, probably because the magnetic cover is quite heavy (a good thing). The specs list it at just under 2 pounds, but it's actually around 2.5 pounds, which is still not that bad. The only issue I had was the free screen protector that came with it, which didn't fit at all. I've applied many phone screen protectors but this one was difficult to remove and didn't stick about half an inch around the edges. It's not touchscreen so I didn't bother with the screen protector and just threw it in the trash. It came with a warranty card and when I emailed my monitor specs they emailed back saying they would send me a carrying case if it was in stock (we'll see). Since my trip was urgent, I ordered a 13" laptop sleeve from Revain, which works great (and at a good price). One last thing: This wasn't the first monitor I've ordered. I first ordered a Lepow15,6 monitor but it was defective: the blue faded after the first few lines above resulting in poor color when blue was involved. Also, it was heavier than I wanted for the monitor so I returned it instead of a replacement and bought it instead (much happier). The reason I mention this is that Kogoda and Lepow are the same company. Everything in the packaging and design of the monitors is the same except for the name on the box and on the bottom of the monitor. It's not good or bad, just interesting. Even though they appear to be non-US startups, the construction of the monitor seems very solid so I hope the monitor continues to perform as well as it has so far as I think it's a worthwhile purchase.
