🔑 Enhanced KEYESTUDIO Mega 2560 R3 Arduino Board for Project Development, Including USB Cable Review

Seems well made, nicely packaged, clear, crisp graphics, nice colours. But mine only accepted sketches about 50 times before dying and becoming completely irretrievable. Of course, the return/refund process was easy, but I think a "prototyping platform" should allow burning many more firmware than 50 (roughly). For context, I used about 6 brands of Arduino clones, including 3 other Mega 2560s, a few Dues, a few Micros, and countless Nanos.

I've had good luck with Keystone products. Addendum: I've had pretty good maintenance for this unit as long as I kept it connected to a 5V power supply. I recently had to connect it to a 12V (actually 11.2V) power supply via the VIN pin (which I need to do in almost all of my projects) and found that the 5V rail was doing almost 8V pressed. I was hesitant to use an Arduino "clone" but even the real Arduinos I've bought recently have an incompatibility "warning" in the IDE due to the new Arduino war between the founders of the Arduino project. There is no error message in the Arduino IDE on this board, and surprisingly there have been no bent pins like Arduino clone boards in the past - every pin is straight and works well with even the most complex Arduino boards.

Very happy with it. I'm using a bank of 130 WS2811 LEDs in an animated Halloween pumpkin and everything works fine. I use many arrays of 130 x 3 long integers storing color samples and haven't had any storage issues. Of course, use an external power supply for the LEDs, as the LEDs draw too much current to be powered by the output of the board. Working with Arduino IDE for the first time. I will be buying more of these for Christmas lighting projects.

I really like this Arduino Mega! 0 issues compiling multiple sketches and uploading to Mega. For now I've hooked up red, yellow and green LEDs to my breadboard and created a simple brake light simulator. I ran an RC 9g servo (Neutral, 0 degrees and 180 degrees). I also hooked up an 8x32 (FC19) LED array I bought from Revain and set up scrollable text. Very customizable, very user friendly, super fun! I can't wait to buy more modules to play around with! I have several Uno and Nano but I needed an Arduino Mega to follow one of Ben Eater's (Beeater Dot Net) projects and that's what he used. It contains instructions on how to download and install the driver on Windows computers. I have a Mac so I don't need it, but I had to update my Arduino AVR boards in the Board Manager tool so that they show up correctly as "Arduino Mega or Mega 2560".
