Type of review

I ordered 5 of these with almost* no problems. The only issue I had was that one of them had a switch that was VERY easy to activate. In my case I didn't try to return/exchange/refund/etc because the particular device a charger was supposed to charge wasn't supposed to be turned on/off. Everyone is launching amps as advertised. (with a margin of a few V/mA as expected)

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Secret

Very important; Limited use at this time

This power supply works well with my Pi 3 B+ model. I also ran my own voltage tests on the RPi's GPIO; The 5 volt and 3.3 volt pins receive the specified voltage. So the power supply works as advertised. I've only used the RPi a couple of times, only about 1 hour total, so I can't comment on the long-term viability of the adapter. The built in on/off switch is a great feature and the length of the cord allows for more flexibility. search RPI.

My Raspberry Pi is not working.

I'm sorry, but my Raspberry Pi (only) runs OctoPrint. After a few hours, it shows the insufficient performance icon. I'm not running it (yet) with plugins or anything that depends on the GPIO. No LCD either. There's no reason why this device should be low-power, but it is. There might be something wrong with the Pi, but I tend to think it's probably a cheaper device if that's the case.

Pros
  • Like everyone else before
Cons
  • I'm worried

Not enough power for Raspberry Pi 3 B+ -or- quality control issues

I bought this power supply along with my Raspberry Pi 3 B+ board. However, when I tried to use this power supply with the Pi and a USB controller, I got low voltage warnings. Looking through other reviews, I've seen similar posts from others. I'm not sure if these units are underpowered or if there is a quality control issue, but I would advise the buyer to be cautious nonetheless. I returned this unit and bought a CanaKit power supply instead. I had no problems with that.

Pros
  • A dream come true

Power supply for Pi in chargers and adapters

Excellent power supply for Raspberry Pi 3. I bought 2 of these. I use one in a Picade cabinet that works fine with an RPi3, 8" 4:3 monitor and PiCade I/O board and one for a Raspberry Pi 3 in a case with a fan. I also like the power button on the cord. Just make sure you turn off the Pi properly, as turning off directly via this switch can damage the micro SD card. Recommend this for a Raspberry Pi power supply.
