Worked great. for brackets

Made this into an ottoman/coffee table for storage in my living room. The hinges work great almost a year later and the table top is very stable when in the raised position for eating or using at the table. The only time something wobbles is when I don't have enough weight in the storage compartment and it's not a hinge issue at all! I decided not to attach the springs as the lid was heavy enough to stay closed and light enough to easily lift on my own. I saved them in case I want to work on…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No machine

Sturdy, works well but assembly is tricky

They would get 5 stars if they only included basic instructions plus a drilling template. They are very strong, but I did a "blind" install by attaching them to the lid of an old box so I wasn't able to install one part and then flip it all over to install the rest . that made it a bit difficult for me. I use an old antique looking printer stand box (yes, I know a vintage printer?) so I wanted something that could support the weight of the printer when open and it worked well. , after I managed

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Raised coffee tables are great!

Installation was easy. Make sure you have at least 7" vertical space to attach as they will not "lie down" horizontally. My table was a surface mounted on a 1" subfloor where I had to add some 2x4s (don't worry - they had polyester patches) so the brackets could be attached properly. This is a great system for turning an ordinary coffee table into a comfortable raised surface for dining or even working.I ended up adding weight to the bottom half when I realized there wasn't enough width/weight…

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Obsolete
