Nice mount, don't use screws!

Very good mount for the price. DO NOT USE SCREWS. I decided to give it a try but my head fell off. Should have known better. I had to rearrange the bracket but it's fine. I didn't buy this (set) for the screws, I was only interested in the bracket hence five stars. I was expecting the screws to be weak. (I have some screws, no problem.)

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Industrial screws are missing

"Product meets expectations. However, what was sent was in packaging that had been opened and some of the screws removed, resulting in my having to struggle to find suitable replacement screws to match what was supposed to be included. When the picker pulled this package out for shipment, he could easily see that the package had been opened (this didn't happen when he shipped it) and could easily count the parts to see if everything was there. . . . . . .

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Socket required

The dimensions are different from the old handrail supports.

I bought these to replace a broken banister post that broke after 51 years of use assuming the dimensions were identical. It's not like this. The mounting holes for the post and U-bracket under the rail are different from the old ones. The biggest design flaw is the U-bracket, which is so narrow that the entire unit cannot be adjusted for even a slight difference in rail angle. I solved this problem by using an old U-Bracket. The distance from the wall to the center line of the track is also…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
