They work great although I feel they are too long and leave too much to trim/sand. If you remove 1/8" from the end facing the screw they can be sanded down easily. They fit/sit well.

These plugs are almost all much darker than the hard maple I was trying to match. There are lungs. If you want a variety of colors, this might be for you.

I bought these for a maple bed I was building. The bag mount allows you to make strong connections. The forks are well made with thin edges. It's a struggle to trim the butt to fit. I couldn't just cut off the corner edge as the cabinet was already stained.

I needed dowels to fill in some pocket holes I had drilled in a project I was working on. The plugs were well shaped, appeared to be of good quality and fitted perfectly. They were long but that suits different holes (depth). I simply cut them flush with a Japanese saw and sanded them smooth. Easy to use, I'm very happy with the end result.

Kreg seems to have an advantage in this market and they price him so, not fair. They somehow found the darkest maple ever grown and put it in this bag because the color match was terrible. They should have been put in a plastic bag but instead they are in a bin. I guess I'm not wrong in assuming that the box is worth more than the product.

These maple end caps are available in a variety of colors so you're sure to find the right one for you. However, if you have a lot of wood of the same color, you may not have enough. My husband built me a maple bookshelf and I was able to find a large number of forks that go well together. They would look even better if I filled them with wood, but our filler is pretty much used up. My husband had to cut them to fit which sucked because he had to use a handsaw but that may be the case. .

The main problem with countersunk screws is that you have a large hole where the countersunk screw sits. These plugs are pre-punched to fill these holes. Put them in the hole, a little light sanding and it's hard to see there was a hole. The maple corks fitted my tree perfectly. If you want the ease of pocket screws but want the finished look, there are some great ones out there. I know you can make your own out of wooden dowels, but for a few bucks you can save yourself some time and effort…
