Review on 🐠 Aqueon LED Background Aquarium Hood by Ryan Bennett

This hood is exactly the same as my original Aqueon fluorescent hood, just with a different lamp. I could just swap the bulbs and that's it. My original hood had the infamous broken hinge so I replaced everything. I bought a 30"20" long and it fits perfectly as before. It comes with a daylight bulb and can accommodate a second bulb. I personally find that one lamp is bright enough. It also has several blue LEDs built in. Hood even for night mode. I won't use this because it's an output timer, but it's neat. To cut out a large filter outlet, cover the desired area with masking tape or masking tape and use a dremel. Do it. on the outside as it causes a mess. My hood arrived in the original packaging and appears to have never been opened. One of the "lamp clips" inside is broken. It still works but can rotate. One half of the glass was missing silicone seal. I had to carefully pry the glass out of the hood, which broke the silicone inside. Then scrape all the silicone off of both pieces and reapply the silicone with 100% GE clear silicone. time they would return it. This is unacceptable. If you rip the jar out of the silicone, you risk breaking the plastic or breaking the jar in your hands at any time. It's all because my original had the infamous broken hinge, which I see hasn't been reinforced or reworked by Aqueon in the latest version since. 8 years.
