This lamp produces the best color with our tank configuration (and we've tried many). When I started using them they lasted over a year. However, it has declined sharply in recent years. If we benefit from a lightbulb for more than a few months, we feel lucky. My guess is that Aqueon chose a cheaper Chinese supplier for its once excellent product.

I love Aqueon products. However, this product is the WORST! I bought this light from PetSmart in June. In August the lightbulb was dead! I bought it again online from Revain. And now in November (less than 3 months later) my tank is in the dark again without a working light! What's wrong with that lightbulb? DO NOT BUY THIS! A total loss of money and a complete piece of shit. TRUST ME, BUY ANOTHER LAMP!

, I was trying to replace an existing lightbulb with the exact same one. What I have loved about this bulb in the past is that it was perfect for a seahorse aquarium. It wasn't too bright for a seahorse, but the full spectrum allowed me to successfully grow multiple species of coral polyps as well as macroalgae. Whatever I got today, it was the wrong lightbulb.
