Not for the latest iPad Pro

I bought this for the connector for my new iPad. Apparently they haven't released any setup for the new iPad so it's useless. I didn't want to pay another $150 to have it work with my Samsung phone since I paid for the entire package with my old iPad.

    Not working - defective

This type C does not read my card but I have tried to buy type A of the same brand and all and it works fine. Why doesn't this C-type work? I think I received a defective piece. Maybe I was just unlucky and almost everyone else got jobs. If it worked it would be great, although from a design point of view I don't see why the plug part couldn't mimic an A type and be folded rather than sticking out and thus taking up more space.

Nice CAC reader and works like a champ

I needed a CAC reader for my home and this is perfect. It's mobile, I keep it on my keychain, and I'm always ready to access CAC-enabled websites on the go if I have my laptop with me. Because it's so compact, I can carry it in my computer bag without taking up much space. My only issue is that the block doesn't snap into place when folded so it sometimes pops open on its own, but so far it hasn't been damaged and has worked without any issues. I just downloaded the drivers from the website and

Worked fine, AFTER installing the new driver

Works fine but a few instructions wouldn't hurt. This device is similar to the SCR3500A, replacing the USB Type-A port (which required an adapter for use with my 2017 MacBook Pro) with a USB Type-C port (which is all the new MacBook has) . Upon arrival, however, the device was found to be dead and arrived without instructions. After a product return, I finally found an FAQ that indicated that a new driver was needed. Now everything is in order!

    Works on Android and Linux

Pixel 3 with Sub Rosa worked right out of the box. If you're trying to get this to work on Linux, you may need to update some libraries and install a driver. I had to get the latest pcsc-lite, pcsc-tools and CCID packages and build them from source. But it works! in summary. From the pcsc-lite package maintainer's blog, this reader is recognized in CCID version 1.4.31.

Cool, simple, functional but breaks easily

The design and functionality of this reader is fantastic, but it has one major drawback that makes it a piece of junk. I have also confirmed this with other users. The reader breaks in the exact same spot and has the same crack pattern along the right shoulder (viewpoint: inserting a card into a reader or shoulder that doesn't have a major lever hook. I've bought 4 of these in the last 10 months and they all crack one and the same place.

The investment is definitely worth it!

This is one of the best smart card readers I have ever used. Don't worry or worry about downloading the driver on the PC as it worked with the first connection through many subsequent connections. I'm so glad I stumbled across this smart card reader option. I was saved from this need for a confused reader due to its compact design. Like it a lot!

    Not very versatile CAC reader

What I like: Plug and play on a laptop, no additional drivers required for Windows 10 Type-C connector. The cable is much shorter than my SCR 3310, so it takes up less space takes . What I don't like: Having to pay $99.99 for software to use on my Android phone. It is not possible to use the reader on your smartphone without additional drivers that are not included in the price of the reader. If you only use it on a laptop, this reader is pretty good. On the other hand, if you were hoping to…

    The only compact USB-C reader

In fact, this device gets a full rating for being. I hate the 3 inch cable that comes with full size readers. This one works. Drivers are easy to find. Five stars. I hated the USB version of this reader. He kept bending and tripping. The USB-C version has a tiny pigtail instead of a straight connector, which turned out to be a big improvement. If you touch it, the card will remain. The port does not break when touched. A chunky reader with a 2 inch cable is better. But in the absence of such an
