That's what it was designed for

Arrived quickly, everything needed to install the kit was included. The instructions were so-so, but with a little understanding you can get by with it. Comes with 2 different compartments so you can decide how deep the pockets are. And if you want, you can also flip it over so the pocket is on top when needed.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Other Other

In 1999, Crown Victoria confirmed its suitability.

The plastic is cheap but works as it should. I don't like the "Break Tabs and Snap" design, but I think they're trying to make kits that fit as many cars as possible. The deep pocket didn't fit in the dash so I had to use the shallow pocket but I think if I had a "mechanical" digital media player instead of a real CD player I could flip the install kit and attach the pocket to the other side of the radio, and it all fits perfectly into the dashboard.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Some bugs

Poorly made and doesn't fit

Maybe it's just me but I have used this particular kit in the past but the quality seems to be lacking. I ended up not installing my new radio for about a month and when I opened the box I found that the two retaining clips had already come loose. One of the others broke off during installation. I may have just received a defective device but was unable to return it for a new one even though the return period had expired. I will try another brand next time.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Requires socket

Junk, don't buy

Doesn't fit my 2001 F-150. Luckily my Pioneer radio came with additional mounting hardware so I got it working. The plastic "Rear Support Bracket" that came with the kit is unusable. I had to use a standard rear "L" support bracket to support the back of the radio and install the kit with the drawer hole on top (upside down per the instructions in the kit). Half of the kit didn't fit at all and I had to press it down with a Pioneer mounting sleeve. Plastic is also not high quality, it can break

  • Lots of positive emotions

Hot Glue or Silicone Will Help

97 Ford Ranger fascia/trim was removed to hot glue the assembly in place. Before installing the radio you should be able to apply hot glue or silicone to hold the panels together. The set seems to have different lugs depending on the application/model and these lugs are just glued onto the bezel frame. I also used velcro strips cut from a roll and sticky pads to attach the radio to the faceplate etc. Some velcro pads have bad reviews. I used a deep support CD that has a slight angle to supportโ€ฆ

But it works. for spare parts

everything i can say works. I installed this in a 1999 Ford Ranger. The instructions were good and it worked. He is weak and I highly doubt he can hold the radio unaided. Luckily my Ranger has a support pole that the mount pouch sits on top of and my radio sits in the top of the pouch. The problem was the delivery. It's plastic and, like I said, thin. Revane didn't put it in a box but in a postal envelope with very little padding. When it arrived some of the clasps were broken. Coincidentallyโ€ฆ

Easy installation Best place among parts

Used on a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT to replace the standard dual dyne platform with an aftermarket single dyne platform. The installation guide was very simple and complete. The textured finish of the kit looks great against the background of the console in the car. The fit is good and precise, there aren't any odd creases or creases that make it weird and out of place. Below deck there were two storage options: a full "CD case" or a shorty for small items. In the photo I installed a longerโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some imperfections

For the price it works

Installation wasn't too difficult. My problem was that the CD holder was bent and didn't sit flush with the rest of the face. Another issue was how the main unit was held in place. The cover that wraps around the edges of the head unit is practically useless and falls out easily. And I don't like how easy it is to pull out the stereo. Pros: - Fits 2001 Ford Explorer Sport - Works with Sony DSXS300BTX - Fairly decent, durable plastic that can be easily painted/coated for a personal touchโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Elegant design

  • Long delivery time
