    Make sure to keep them dry

    Great system but fatal flaw. The cable that holds the small handles together is not stainless steel, if it gets wet it will rust and break.

    Bought these to replace an old pair.

    Purchased to replace an old pair of Yaktrax Pros. I didn't notice any difference on ice or packed snow. If you hit concrete a lot, they'll probably last longer. If you don't save and buy pluses.

    You are perfect. Much better than the Yaktrax reel

    Bought for me and my wife for everyday use in Anchorage, Alaska. You are perfect. Much better than the reel style Yaktrax we had before. I don't slip in snow and ice, and if I have to leave them on for a few minutes while lugging groceries into the kitchen, I don't slip on the floor and damage the floor surface.

    Broke twice in one year.

    First pair broke within a month of 1-2 miles a day; the wire broke and the thorn beads fell off (November). The manufacturer replaced them (February). The spare pair was worn 1-2 miles a day from February to April and then worn for 2 weeks in November and the wire also broke. The manufacturer will not provide a "replacement" as there is a 90 day guarantee. It was stated that they thought they could have benefited a lot from it.     You need that for your clutch! I paced the snow and ice with a sore knee and was absolutely secure in my footing. The person who wrote that they are weird on the sidewalk is wrong, they are still comfortable. I'd say if you run them on dry pavement they won't perform as well after about 6 months of minimal wear, but come on, things do wear out. They are SHARP and can hurt your fingers when you put them on so be careful. I've had a few shoes like this before but I love them the most as they have

    Very effective on all types of ice. Living in New England, I walk my dog every day no matter the conditions, so effective traction control is very important to me during our long winters. I also have a steep access road and without help I can sometimes slide down while shoveling snow, which is not good at all. My feet are on the small end of the spectrum for these sizes and they feel great; Room for more trunk space, but they don't hang around at all.
