I bought a DVR, a rear window camera and a set of fixed cables. Installation was easy, neat and mostly well hidden except for the cables at the top of the windshield and rear windows. I ordered some small 3M cable clips to attach this to the top of the windshield. There was no way for me to slide the wires under the window frames without breaking something. I decided to use non-switchable power supplies for the setup. Power is always available, even when parked. If someone crashes into the car or, even worse, if someone tries to get in, the camera's G-sensor will be triggered, the camera will turn on and record the event. The rear window camera is very useful as a backup. The rear field of view is wide enough to see most things in blind spots, but not everything as expected. Still, it's many times better than just mirrors. I love the reverse function so much I leave it on all the time. It is excellent for monitoring cars in blind spots in the city and on the highway. I have just one small remark. The day view of the display is too dark for my old eyes. This is probably because I included an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the screen brightness based on the ambient light, which is great for nighttime driving. I wish there was a way to customize it. That's it folks. Buy it!
