Useful but use with caution

I have mixed feelings about this handrail. I have serious back problems and falling in the tub can be very dangerous. I recently sold my house and rented an apartment where I can't install handrails. So that seemed like the best solution to me. The surround is made of 4 inch tiles. The device fits well between the tiles and creates a good grip with the suction cups. don't strain it too much as it's not designed for that. However, there were a few times that it suddenly and unexpectedly let go. This could cause you to lose your balance when you didn't expect it. In general, it's a sucker. Does not screw into a stud. If a leak occurs, it fails. So here's what I recommend: 1. Check it every time you get in the tub. Make sure it's still sticking firmly to the wall. 2. Don't strain it. It's a sturdy handle to help you balance, but not a handrail to support you if you fall. Of course, make sure the wall is clean when you apply it. Levers and gauge work well. Just don't push it beyond its capacity and don't expect it to hold up well.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Minor things
