I have a very complex HDMI setup for retro consoles including RetroUSB AVS, Analogue Super NT and Mega SG, Ultrahdmi modded N64, Gamecube Carby HDMI, Wii U Pound PS2 HDMI, PS3, PS4 and Switch. Since many of these work through a Monoprice 8x HDMI switch, I figured using them for the HDMI output would bring incredible benefits by upscaling 8 consoles and applying anti-aliasing on my 4k TV. In short, this product is amazing. for the gamecube and nothing else I have listed. This degrades all 240p (leaving most of the image intact, but introducing random artifacts). Impact on anything at 1080p is negligible and not worth $100. I tried downscaling to 720p on consoles that allowed it and 720p+mClassic was no better than 1080p+nothing or 1080p+mclassic. If the Gamecube is your system of choice and you play a lot of different games, it might be worth it. if you have a Carby or GCHD MK-II. The impact was really strong and the GameCube looked like it was outputting 1080p natively. The jagged edges have been perfectly smoothed out. I'd love to see Insurrection Industries replicate what it's doing on Carby itself. The real downside for me was the N64. I was hoping this would help a notoriously inferior system get decent video quality on modern TVs and as great as the Ultra HDMI mod is, it's still n64 and some games still look like garbage. But I've tried several games and none of them have been improved by this device. 2 out of 5 looked worse. If it's $40-$50 it might be worth it as you can use it with an HDMI switch or AV receiver and turn it off when needed (although I wish it had a remote control, switching is tricky). But the price for it is pretty stupid. I don't know who would be worth it other than GameCube superfans or rich people.
