I just made a hasty purchase at a communication salon of a YAMAHA EPH-30 to replace the SENNHEISER CX300-II that I had been using. I didn't have my headphones with me, and I was about to embark on a lengthy journey. The vendor assured me that these ones were well rated, so I quickly googled them and settled on giving them a try. I got it, opened it (not easily), tried it on the subway, and was very dissatisfied: the headphones did not block out any outside noise, the bass was nonexistent, and they were uncomfortable to wear. Sadness overwhelmed me. After listening to the radio at a few different stations, I wondered if I should switch to a larger size rubber band for my headphones (there are three sizes total, with medium ones already placed). After about 5 minutes of fiddling around, I swapped out the small rubber bands for larger ones, and oh my goodness, the noise was muffled, the bass came through, and what else! The sound quality is generally really good, there are no major flaws, and I noticed an improvement right away. After making a few minor adjustments to the player's equalizer, I was finally happy with the sound. The medium-sized elastic bands that are often implanted and are not tightly pushed into the ear are where the action is at.
