After almost a year of use in the shower, the product looks good and does not rust. If you can live with a smaller size. great well made product. (UPDATE Feb 2010) I bought this shelf to hang in the shower. Since the chromed (similar) luggage racks had a rust warning. The stand appears to be plated (Ni?) and made in China (sticker). I have not verified that the item is made of stainless steel and the finish, although not chrome plated, does not appear to be typical of stainless steel. The designer hooks seem to fit most bathroom doors and have suction cups to hold them to glass or tile. Overall: small (wish it was bigger so there was enough room for two shower users), well made, not chrome plated, not sure if stainless steel and only time will tell.
