The speakers replaced another pair of outdoor speakers we installed about two years ago. The speakers connect to a Sonos amplifier to connect them to the rest of our wireless system. I didn't want to invest too much in the first pair as I wasn't sure how much I would notice a difference in sound quality out on my patio, but as one of the old speakers sounded tinny I decided to swap out. The sound quality on them offers a much richer foundation. Even my husband, who doesn't normally hear a difference in sound quality from all of my audio electronics, said he heard a difference in quality from an old "good" speaker.
