i have a 32 oz water bottle that i carry with me everywhere but i used to get in the car annoyed because it didn't fit in the cup holder or in the door, so I had to either hold it on my lap, which got boring very quickly, or put it on another seat or on the floor, which just meant it ended up rolling loudly all over the place. I searched Revain and this one was the right size and easiest to install. I'm so glad I bought it! I use it every day. You stick it in an existing holder and let me tell you, it DOESN'T MOVE! It's really not going anywhere (so choose carefully where you want it). The 32 ounce bottle fits perfectly and doesn't budge. I actually had to make some effort to get it out as the rubber tabs held it in place. If you have a large mug, these tabs can also be removed. It stretches quite a bit, so I'd say a 40-ounce bottle shouldn't be a problem either. Although the gallon bottles definitely won't fit.
