Review on PlushDeluxe Premium Bamboo Mattress Protector – Waterproof, Soft & Breathable Bed Mattress Cover for Ultimate Comfort & Protection - King Size by Tammy Marie

Revainrating 4 out of 5

They lied about the pocket depth but other than that it's great

I bought a twin, I measured it, they say it has an 18 inch pocket but it's actually only a 14 maybe 15 Inches max. But it turned out ok, I bought it to protect the air bed, the air bed also lied, they said it was 18 inches but it's actually only 17 inches, also it has a cut out at the bottom to create a niche specifically for fitted sheets and toppers. It fits perfectly! This topper does not fit under the bed as intended, but it does fit exactly as the bed was designed to fit. So basically, both the air mattresses and the manufacturing companies lied (err, exaggeratedly) about equally as much, leading to them actually collaborating. Your actual mileage may vary. I've spent hours and hours and hours trying to find a new air bed and protection for it. In the end I choose this one. The air beds are flimsy, but they are also very comfortable, so I'll try again, the last one has a hole. I decided something needed to be done to protect the airbed. After reading a million reviews I decided on this protector. Overall I am very happy with this mattress protector. it is very soft and comfortable. The statement that you don't even need a leaf is true. I didn't pay attention to water resistance. It was clean and ready to use right out of the bag. If you're expecting a mattress topper, this isn't it. There is actually a small amount of padding, but it's only there to protect your mattress, it doesn't claim to be a mattress pad that adds padding. It doesn't help you if your mattress is too hard. I've read a lot about it and calling it bamboo is just a marketing gimmick, as does any fabric that claims to be "made of bamboo". When you buy something made of cotton or linen, you're getting something made from real plant fibers. But when you buy a fabric that claims to be made from bamboo, you are actually getting viscose. To further confuse the issue, they call Rayon Viscos. It's all just marketing promotion, all companies do it. it's not exactly a lie, but pretty close. It's like naming paper a pine forest. Sure, paper is made from pine wood, but that's where the similarity to wood ends. Paper is made from cellulose, which is usually derived from wood, the most common of which is pine, while rayon is also made from cellulose, which can be derived from many different sources including bamboo. But is it really that bad? No not at all. Viscose is essentially an artificial silk used in many garments. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using rayon fabric. Calling it Bamboo is just a little unfair. The result of this 40/60 viscose/polyester blend is a very pleasantly soft, comfortable and beautiful fabric that also has to be reasonably hard-wearing. Bottom Line: If your mattress is 14 inches or smaller (for the 18 inch version), this protector is a great choice. but if you're looking for padding or a deeper pocket, then this isn't it. My only concern is that rayon is flammable. The level of fire resistance of this material is not indicated on the packaging. Disclaimer: Nobody bribed me to write this review. I paid full price and have no affiliation with any of the companies. I wrote this review because I rely heavily on the reviews of others when trying to make a purchasing decision about a product and I am very frustrated with the often poor quality and biased reviews I have to sift through to get an accurate one to get an impression of a product. Product. If you found this review helpful, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Gratitude!
