My puppy is quite cold in the car but I think this seat will help. She wasn't in an accident but I spilled some water and it didn't leak out. I like that it protects the back of the seat. The box isn't big enough to prevent her from climbing out completely, but just enough to give her her own cozy spot. I added a blanket and a toy and I'm good to go. It needs to be mounted on a bucket seat as there are 2 straps that can wrap around the seat and hold it in place. There's also an adjustable leash that snaps in like a harness to prevent pups from wandering too far.
