Blinking bulb lost and replaced with LED, but using LED doubled the on/off switching speed, which is an indicator of a burned out bulb. Adding a resistor to the LED solved the double speed and restored the normal speed blinking. Although I could have used the red terminals, I chose not to short the wires on my truck. So I decided to strip and solder the wires. Then I added dielectric grease and heat shrink tubing. Then I added nylon tubing and secured them with a zipper. Then I drilled a hole for a 10mm screw and attached the heatsink to the lowest metal part with enough room for airflow. After testing the turn signal, I touched the radiator to feel it getting hot or warm. While wearing rubber gloves, I didn't notice the resistor getting hot at all. I flashed it for a few minutes and it was still barely warm. However, in the northern hemisphere it is also December and the outside temperature is 37°F or 3°C. What would I change? If you're using red clips (which is fine), I'd still smear a dab of dielectric grease on your chosen spot and tape it on as well. This minimizes moisture and corrosion. I would also add a drop of glue to the end of the red wire if left open. Wonderful product at a great price and delivered to my door what a time to be alive.
