Bigen is the only hair color I can use on my chemically straightened hair without causing further damage. It is much softer than other peroxide hair dyes. The caveat is that it cannot be used to lighten hair, only to add pigment. I mainly use it to cover the gray in my naturally dark brown hair. There are two things to pay attention to: 1) If you have long hair, you should buy more than 1 pack to get full coverage. I need 2-3 packs for my shoulder length hair. 2) Consider choosing a color that is a few shades lighter than the desired result. For the record, I have dark brown (actually black) hair and use chocolate or light brown to cover my gray hair. The end result looks dark brown/black like my natural hair color. When I first used Bigen I chose dark brown thinking it would look like my natural hair color but the result was too black and unnatural for my liking. I also tried light brown on bleached ends and the result was medium blonde. In order not to get too dark a color, do not leave it on your hair for too long. After several washes, the color fades a little, but not much.
