The sound quality of this amplifier is impressive. It's also a great elegant look. It's great that you have control over the equalizer and a great community for those who don't know how to tweak equalizer. I never thought it was worth buying an amp. A good headset usually fits me. After my old headset stopped working, I struggled to find a good full-featured gaming kit with good sound quality and lag-free self-hearing (mic monitoring) functionality. I tested about 10 different headphones in the $100-$200 range and wasn't happy with any of them for various reasons. The ones that I thought had the best sound quality were either lacking or had a terrible side effect. Then I decided to try amplifiers. I started with the Sound Blaster X. Sound quality was good, but there wasn't much control. Sidetone was also unusable with a delay. (Even with all language enhancements disabled - yes, I researched that) so I've moved on to that. I was very surprised at how well he made an already great sounding headset even better. The side effect was the first. The quick 4 EQ presets are great, and the separate master volume and chat controls are great. My only slight downside is that it doesn't have a mute button. Not a big deal, but since my headset had a built-in mic on the USB side of the two-piece cable, I lost that feature. In general I am very satisfied with her.
