I don't know why there are so many positive reviews. mine doesn't work I've tested the pH on my lawn, brought-in topsoil, straight-through, peat moss, lemon, store-bought compost, and garden soil. I left it for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours, forgot about it overnight. The pH never changes from alkaline. If there's a trick, I'd like to know what it is.

We had bare patches in our garden despite regular watering and partial shade, so I needed to know exactly how much shade there was and why the grass there was suddenly dying. I bought this to figure out what type of weed to buy based on what our soil was like and how much sunlight the area was getting throughout the day while I was at work. Without them I never would have known that I was flooding the yard too much and that I would have to whitewash it.

I was delighted to receive and use this pH, light and humidity tester but from the start it was questionable whether or not it would work for the weather. The arrow makes noise, so it can be difficult to determine the exact value. I quickly realized that the readings were inaccurate no matter where I put them. At this point, the device stopped working completely. This is when you get what you pay for. Next time I'll spend a little more for a better product.

This product would be easy to use if it were right. These two plants were either very damp or wet and if I watered them more they would rot. The instructions state that prayer plants should be watered at 6 or lower. They are under full spectrum grow lights that hardly register as sufficient. Maybe it's crap, but what I got is far from right. I had high hopes but unfortunately it won't work for me.

I bought this moisture meter because I really need to know the moisture level of my plants. I'm new to growing a plant and really haven't figured out how to use the weight of the pot to determine how moist the soil is. I also can't get my fingers into the soil deep enough to know how dry or wet it really is. I have used this gauge and it has been so helpful. I just put the counter in the middle of the pot, not the edges, and always clean the stakes between and after each plant.

I use it to measure the pH and humidity of some plants in my garden. The display is small and can be difficult to read when stuck in the middle of a large pot. I think I need to see the position of the needle and then remove that and see what that value is. But for the price it's a minor inconvenience and it really helped to decide when to water and how much. What can not be said about the ph meter. This unit reported my soil was extremely alkaline so I added tons of acidifier to the soil and it said still my soil is alkaline. Finally, I placed the probes in pure Canadian spagum moss. Everyone knows that Canadian moss is very acidic. It is still considered almost 100% basic. The arrow didn't even move! The product tolerates moisture and sunlight very well. Tried to check the pH and the planter only filled with wet Canadian sphagnum peat moss (since it says CLEAR NOT TO USE FOR LIQUIDS). After 10 minutes in the moss, the pH value of 8 had not changed. The CANADIAN Magnum peat moss is the only Pete to lose pH from 4.5 to 5. Obviously the pH meter is not accurate.
