Too bad I haven't had this counter for a long time. I lost so many plants from watering too much. I was watching videos about plants on You Tube and the person there recommended this soil gauge to me. I tested it myself at Revain and the price was great. So I decided to give it a try. I didn't expect good instructions and diagrams on the back of the box at all. He has a great chart showing how much moisture most simple plants like. So now I can just stick the sensor in the pot and get an instant moisture reading. No more overwatered plants. I then tried adjusting the light meter to see how much light my plants needed according to the chart. I had to move some of the plants to give them better lighting. Last but not least, the instructions give a good explanation of the pH value. So now I can tell if I need to make soil adjustments if my soil is too acidic. When I initially wanted to purchase this product, I was just looking for moisture. But having all 3 readings in one meter at a very reasonable price is really great. All this with a wonderful diagram on the back of the box. This inexpensive counter will save many of my very expensive plants from slow death in the future. After owning this counter for a while I decided to buy another one so I could have one on top and one on the bottom.
