This is for a system with 8 POE cameras - 2TB. I needed an easy to install system that didn't require separate power lines for the cameras. POE is definitely the way to go. Overall it's a good and simple system and I'm very happy with my purchase. Here are some pros and cons that come to mind: Pros: Color image quality is really good and sharp, especially in daylight. At night/low light, the camera automatically turns on the built-in infrared lights - the image is black and white but also very clear within the beam pattern of the infrared lights, which have a pretty good range. with 8 ethernet cables so you don't even have to buy them. The ends of the cameras where the Ethernet cable is connected are weatherproof and have LED indicators to show active power is being applied and video data is being sent. Movement so your hard drive doesn't fill up with videos of a swaying tree or spinning ceiling fan. - You can choose standard definition or HD for each individual camera. The standard is really good, HD makes it really crisp. However, I did find that when viewing the live video feed, there is a few seconds of lag between what you see and what actually happens when the camera is set to HD. The standard resolution does not have this problem. My home network is very fast, so I know it's not network related. Cons: They are minor but unexpected: - The included ethernet cables were not the same length. A few shorter ones were found laying cables in the attic. Rather than swap to a longer one, I just bought a coupler and 10ft cable from a home store and got the job done. Really good customer support after installation: about a month after installing the system, a camera failed, no video was sent. I worked directly with Zosi support via email. I'm guessing they're not from China, but that wasn't a problem at all - they were VERY responsive and usually took less than 24 hours to reply to an email. I worked with Bill, he was very polite and attentive to the question. The emails he sent contained many good directions. He let me try a few different things to make sure it was a bad camera and not a bad cable or connector on the main unit or a setup configuration issue. This back and forth email showed me that they were looking into this and actively trying to fix the issue. Eventually we found that the camera itself had failed and they sent me a replacement. Bill was great and Zosie is supportive after your purchase which is REALLY important.
