I found these and got 4 units for less than $40. I said why not. I want to say that the money was not spent in vain! They worked great on a cruise. The only time we had any problems was when we were on opposite ends of the ship, but given the amount of metal and anything that might get in the way we were very happy. Our cabin was on the 3rd deck and we had good reception up to the 6th deck. They work well on road trips, but not so well around town, about 1 mile away in hilly terrain. But about 3 miles on an open highway. We have used these devices throughout the house with positive results.
