Just great for the money!

I'm a student pilot. I love these headphones. Much more comfortable and functional than those offered by the airport. They can be a little heavy for some people, but 1-2 hour flights don't bother me. I highly recommend headphones, especially if like me you live in a hot and humid climate. I don't know what you get with expensive $1000 sets (possible weight savings and maybe better clarity), but for the student who doesn't deserve their wings, I think this should be the choice.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

Fantastic headset for the price

I use this headset for daily flight training. I got tired of using rented headphones that had constant mic issues. I bought the headset mainly for the convenience and quality of the microphone. I can say with confidence that it does its job perfectly, the sound quality is amazing compared to cheaper ones. The microphone picks up my voice and my voice only when I speak. In terms of comfort, it sits perfectly on my head even with sunglasses. I would highly recommend it to any beginner pilot who…

The microphone stopped working after a few uses.

I had to give it a star because while it was a good headset and was very happy with the quality; The microphone stopped working after a few uses due to a small screw falling out of the microphone input housing. I can't use my $330 headset and this has affected my flight training as my flight school rents very poor quality. I contacted David Clarke customer service about the part and was quickly told they would ship the part which was not received after two weeks. I was very unhappy with the…

Reliable Prefect headset with no frills.

It's great! I tried $1000 Bose headphones. Yes, they sound better, but if you're not a flight instructor and fly once a week, then it's great. They make a cloth sleeve to cover the jelly cups to keep them warm in the winter and not cause wet ears in the summer, highly recommend. I've been using them for about a year. they hold up well. (200 hours) It's like buying a plain Corolla. They are very durable and meet your flight needs. Nobody needs anything else. The other part of this is that you…

great headset for the price

The headset seems to be of good quality and the sound quality is much better than my previous headset (borrowed from my teacher). They even fit my glasses and keep engine noise to a minimum. The headset does a good job of noise-cancelling the microphone, blocking out background noise when I'm speaking. I am very grateful that they have included the complete construction and wiring diagrams to allow homes to be modified and renovated - which is becoming very rare. My only complaint is that even…

Comfortable headset of excellent quality!

I am a student pilot, today was my first flight day 07.01.20. I've been tossing and turning between buying an ANR headset and buying a traditional non-ANR headset. In the end I settled on David Clarke H10-13.4. I couldn't be happier with my choice. DCs are very comfortable, very well made (made in the USA), keep noise at a good level and work well. I can clearly hear the instructor, ATC and other aircraft. I didn't feel any uncomfortable lateral pressure from the headset. Very satisfied with…

Great first or second headset - Good price

I have settled on a pair of Avcom headsets which are good value for money. The David Clark H10 headphones are very comfortable, don't put uncomfortable pressure on the head and generally do a good job of noise-cancelling. This is a great entry level pair or second pair if you don't want to spend more on the A20 or Zulu 3. These will not disappoint you! Overall the construction is solid and comfortable, it's quite ergonomic and the sound quality is much better than the previous pair I've used…

In the price range, this is a general aviation headset.

This was the first aviation headset I received while working towards my private pilot license and I am confident that this headset will see me through my next decade of aviation adventures. First, these things scream build quality. . Serious. They are even more solidly built than the Cessna 172 you fly. I have no doubt that they will outlive the warranty period. Besides durability? Sound quality and comfort are important. The sound quality is about as good as I can imagine for a headset without

Pros

I recently purchased these David Clark aircraft for my private pilot license. I have to admit this is a huge upgrade from the flight school headphones I rented for my first two flights. The fit is a little tight, I haven't flown cross country yet, but after an hour and a half they're still comfortable (I think they should take the shape of my head after a while). The pole holds its shape, and I'm relieved that I no longer have to yell into the headset to intercom. The sound is nice and clear…
