Rating: PU Leather 48 Fountain Pen Case So I realized pretty quickly that I was going to need one of these. Fountain pens are very addictive and with all the high quality Chinese models available from Jinhao and the like, you're probably going to need a pair of these. This case is made of pleasantly soft but durable synthetic leather. it even smells good! It seems flexible enough to slide the grips in and out, but I'd also trust just tossing it in a bag or trunk and expecting my grips to still be in great shape. (Of course, don't leave ink fountain pens in a hot machine.) The zipper is metal (mine is gold), but the zipper's teeth are plastic, meaning you won't scratch the handles as you slide them in and out. The elastic bands inside are strong enough to prevent your grips from rubbing against each other, yet flexible enough to accommodate even large diameter grips like my Jinhao 950 Ceramic model! I bought this case specifically because of the double straps for each handle. There's a nice central baffle and the entire interior is lined with soft microfiber. This is a good affordable portable fountain pen storage solution. It's convenient enough to carry around your fanciest stationery, yet affordable enough for my Jinhaos collection. I put 18 pens in my case and although they fill it up well, it's still easy to open and close to get pens in and out. However, due to the way the tips are arranged, I recommend partially moving the top row tip before inserting or removing the bottom row tip to avoid contact between the tips which could cause damage (see image). You will not find a more beautiful body. I also have 36 and 12 grip models that appear to be from the same manufacturer (see photo). They all have the same quality and value!
