Just did a quick test to see if the 14ft cable I bought worked. Yes, but I have little confidence it will last because the insulated wire is so thin I don't even want to think about how thin real wire is. The diameter of the insulated wire is about 1/2 the diameter of the 3.5mm (1/8 inch) plug, so the insulated portion of the wire should only be about 1/16 inch or slightly larger. Real wire should be almost like hair, so I can't imagine it holding up. The negative reviews seem to confirm this, although there are plenty of positive reviews as well. My rating is purely based on my first impressions, which aren't too good. I have a couple of 1/8" cables of various lengths, but I've never seen one that thin. I was very surprised when I saw him. So keep that in mind when considering purchasing.
