Not compatible with PS4 controllers

I bought a couple of these cables so my SO and I can play on the PC from the couch, when using the cables windows just returns the error Unidentified USB device, but when using a different USB cable to the same USB port, Windows recognizes the controllers perfectly and they work as expected. Very disappointed that these cables do not work despite the product name being PS4 compatible.
