I was hesitant to purchase but so glad I did! It’s absolutely scrumptious, warm, fluffy, and cozy. I have zero issue with it shedding and wash inside out. I pair with a feather cover and it serves not only for crazy warmth but also like a weighted blanket and it’s AMAZING! Heavy but an oasis. You could use without insert but I’ll try without it, during the warmer months, perhaps. I was able to tie my feather cover (came with feature to tie to loops inside duvet corners) inside which was a great feature, keeping it from moving around and bunching. The "fur” look was longer than expected so took a second to get into but now dig it and look forward to snuggling it every night. Would recommend!
