I've tried several of these LED strips. They are obviously good for many purposes. Not everything I've tried has a really good "warm white" that looks like hot white, but it really does. I tested them next to my lightbulbs. That particular set of rope lanterns will soon be gone. It's about 55 feet in there, and after a few years they start to fade in pieces. They were a bit faded from age, incense etc but this LED set burned right next to it and the warm white suited them perfectly. I am impressed. The remote offers some interesting options, but if you want to use settings that require you to scroll up and down, you can't just select a setting. It's okay because I definitely just need a stable color and the ability to darken it. The remote has to be VERY close - about 10 feet or so - to respond to all the buttons. It's a little annoying when you hang them in a secluded place. They're as bright as my incandescent bulbs I mentioned, so that's a plus. The power supply connects to the USB cable ONLY, so I needed a USB wall charger to connect them. Decent flashlights for little money. They will serve whatever purpose I will use them for but once again I am impressed that the warm white was accurate. JSV
