Review on Weller D650 High-Performance Industrial Soldering Gun by Paul Wilson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Better a Chinese made

American junk, I've never had a problem with anything made in China. It definitely doesn't look like the old 650s my dad had. The lightbulbs are messy and don't work unless you play around with them. The lamps aren't even installed in the gun, just a thin piece of metal sitting in a vacant slot. The top position didn't work so I took it apart and found that the top position of the relay didn't work half the time. Looks like it was replaced and soldered with a blowtorch. I think the relay overheated while soldering. The screw on the back of the pistol was loose, the internal plastic that the screw fits into was broken. This is a very badly refurbished gun, I paid full price for it, yes I'm angry. Weller is already a shitty name to me. $70 shit is a lot for me, I'm disabled. If Weller wants to contact me and fix the problem, that's fine, and until then I'll tell everyone I know about the behind-the-scenes plot against me. Oops, I doubt it's a real 650 because there's no way it could solder a car radiator like I did my dad's d650.
