Review on πŸ”§ DEWALT DW8435 Pipeline Cut and Grind by Shane Jenkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

If your grinder's guard will hold up, this is a great metal cutting blade.

I'm giving 4 stars because the cutting blade goes so deep. Being a bolt-on, single pot cutting disc, it ended up under the protection of my angle grinder and I didn't expect this to happen. The incisions made were in a shallow hole, so I didn't feel this was too much of a safety issue. When cutting outdoors, make sure the angle grinder guard covers the disc. When cutting, it went through some of the steel posts as if they weren't there and I wasn't worried about it failing. I use a 7 amp grinder and it took little effort to remove the posts. Looking at some YouTube videos, it is recommended to use 1/16" discs when the grinder's load might be too high for such a 1/8" disc. So keep that in mind when using a lower power grinder. Crevices in the photo, there is almost no wear on the disc. It took maybe 30 seconds per post (like butter). A good buy if your grinder's protection is low enough to handle.

Pros
  • High concentration of aluminum oxide grains
Cons
  • Exorbitant price
