It worked in the end
I used a Cat6 cable to connect my laptop to the large display below via this HDMI extender but it didn't work as expected. I unplugged and reconnected all the cables. The result is still the same, but the monitor's video screen is blinking. Eventually I found that when I flipped the last switch on the receiver to the side marked 50 meters everything went better and the problem went away lol. I think it should be a settings function.
